Mildenhall Cycling Rally on its way

The Mildenhall Cycling Rally takes place between 23 and 25 August.

Now in its 22nd year, the event has a packed programme sure to appeal to any keen bike riders or even any visitors to the area on a cycling holiday, mildenhallrally.org.uk reports.

Events include grass-track biking, children's entertainment, a trade show and a quiz.

Attendees of a high fitness standard who are wishing to take part in bike riding may be keen to note that the Newmarket Duathlon is set to begin at 7.45 am on the Sunday. This involves a 5-kilometre run, a 23-kilometre bike ride and another 5‑kilometre run, with entry costing £23 for non-Bicycle Transportation Alliance members.

Mildenhall has its own cycling club, which was formed in 1953, although it states there is evidence to suggest that a cycling club existed in the late-1800s.

After enjoying the Mildenhall Cycling Rally, club members have planned an off-road club run for the Brandon area the following weekend, on Sunday 31 August 31.
