Mountain bike riders prepare for Cheddar Challenge

Mountain bike riders will be preparing for the Cheddar Bikefest race this month, which is now entering its second year.

On 26, 27 and 28 September the event, which is sponsored by KONA® Bikes, will take place but with a slightly different set-up and course this year.

The event offers cycling enthusiasts and fans of outdoor activity the chance to take part in the NiteRider Night Time Trial on Friday evening as well as a 10-hour endurance event on Saturday.

For those who still have energy left after those two events, on the Sunday there will be a five-hour endurance race as well as a three-hour novice ride.

Event organisers say the Cheddar Bikefest has ‘8 kilometres of the best single-track loaded race course you can find anywhere’.

They add that it is ‘fast, enjoyable, exciting, easy to follow by spectators and never too far away from the event village’.

Bike-fest.com reports there is still plenty of space left for those who want to take part in the event, although warning that the solo races in particular do get booked up in advance.
