Go wild in Pembrokeshire National Park
12 June 2008
Lovers of outdoors activity are being encouraged to go wild in Pembrokeshire National Park this summer.
On 30 and 31 August the Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival will take place in the Welsh county, attracting those looking for a fun day out in the popular walking spot.
Located in St David's, which describes itself as Britain's smallest city, the unique event is now entering its fourth year.
Festival goers are invited to ‘make the most of wild and natural materials’ at the event and local exhibitors will showcase the best in regional produce.
Meanwhile, chefs will be on hand, demonstrating how to make the most of wild food that walkers may pick up along their countryside rambles.
Hostel chain YHA® says: ‘You'll also be able to try your hand at traditional rural crafts, join a hedgerow or shoreline walk and get involved with children's activities or the welly-slinging competition’.
Pembrokeshire National Park is Britain's ‘only truly coastal’ National Park and boasts steep cliff tops for climbing, sandy beaches and a bevy of wildlife.
It is a great place for cyclists to exercise their pedal power and ramblers to get themselves in shape.
