Sculpture trail opens in Hebden Bridge
10 July 2008
A new sculpture trail has opened in Hebden Bridge, to celebrate the town's industrial heritage.
Ramblers who embark on the route between now and 19 July will be treated to a range of artwork created by the children of Hebden Royd Primary School, reports hebdenbridge.co.uk.
The trail, which is now decorated with giant puppets and mobiles, is located in Colden Clough Local Nature Reserve, giving ramblers the chance to take in the local wildlife as well as appreciate the pupils' artwork.
Ramblers can get a map of the trail from Hebden Bridge's Arts Festival Office and Tourist Information Centre.
Hebden Bridge is a Walkers are Welcome town as it takes active steps to improve local facilities for ramblers.
The Hebden Bridge Walkers Action group has plans to launch a Gentle Walking initiative in the area to encourage those who are less fit to use this form of exercise as a way to keep fit.
