Ham it up in Surrey this month
03 July 2008
Those seeking a family day out are being invited to ham it up in Surrey this month.
On 12 July Ham House in Richmond is hosting its Big Dance 2008, which could provide lovers of outdoor activity with the ideal way to spend their Saturday.
From 11.00 to 17.00 the Nonsuch History and Dance company will entertain crowds at the National Trust property.
Costumed dancers will showcase their skills; while there will also be a range of opportunities for families to get involved in the festivities themselves.
The 17th-century house is located on the bank of the River Thames and its formal gardens feature lavender parterres and a ‘maze-like wilderness’.
During the event walking fans could also enjoy a ramble around the historic residence, which is rumoured to be one of Britain's most haunted.
Admission to Ham House costs £5.50 for a child, £9.90 for an adult and £3.30 for those who only want to walk around the garden.
