‘Pic 'n' mix’ walking event for those with a sweet tooth
27 June 2008
Those with a sweet tooth for rambling will be pleased to hear that a ‘pic 'n' mix’ walking event has been organised in the south-west of England.
Between 6 and 10 October the Boscastle Walking Festival will take place, giving ramblers the chance to take part in a wide range of outdoor activities.
VisitBoscastle says of the event: ‘We will be offering a “pic 'n' mix” of walks and activities. This way you can join us for a day, a short break or maybe even make a week.’
Walks during the event will be based around themes such as history, literature and the environment and guides will give talks based on these topics.
Furthermore, festival-goers will be able to enjoy boat trips from the local coastline, during which they may spot the seals that live near Beeny.
Visitors who decide to make a walking holiday out of the festival will also be able to attend the Boscastle Food, Arts and Crafts Festival on 4 and 5 October, giving them a real flavour for the area.
