Training day for UK youth cyclists
The Olympic Talent programme is holding a training event for young cyclists of all abilities looking for a cycling day out.
Following the success of the programme’s coaching day earlier this year, the Olympic Talent team welcomes riders born between 1991 and 1996 to take part in the day of cycling coaching.
The event will be held on Monday 22 October at Mallory Park motor racing circuit in Leicestershire from 10.30 am and will offer structured, quality coaching sessions designed to suit different ages. Road bikes and cyclo-cross bikes are permitted at the event but, unfortunately, mountain bikes will not be catered for.
Performance Manager of the Olympic Talent programme, Gary Coltman, said: ‘The day is designed simply to give riders the chance to experience a group coaching session and learn or refine some road and cyclo-cross skills’.
He added that the day is not a ‘talent team selection event’ and those attending must choose between either road or cyclo-cross as there will not be an opportunity to cross over between the two disciplines.
British Cycling runs the Olympic Talent programme and is the governing body of cycle sport in Britain, as recognised by the Union Cycliste Internationale and the Sports Council.
