London gets Bollywood map
22 May 2007
A new map pinpointing London locales where Bollywood movies were shot has been launched.
Produced by Visit London and Film London, the map highlights locations such as Osterley Park, Stratford Station and Canary Wharf – where, respectively, the films Kabhi Khushie Kabhie Gham, Mujhse Dosti Karoge and I…Proud to be an Indian were shot.
It also highlights favourite backdrops for Bollywood films being shot in London, such as Big Ben and the London Eye.
James Bidwell, CEO Visit London, said: ‘The Bollywood Movie Map will give fans of Indian cinema the chance to visit the locations and landmarks immortalised on screen from over 20 top Bollywood films and follow in the footsteps of their favourite stars.’
Last year the capital played host to around 40 Bollywood shoots.
