Best routes for dog walking
17 August 2007
Some of Scotland’s best dog-walking routes have been named.
According to Barbara Agnew of The Scotsman®, a beach bounded by a forest at Tentsmuir, Fife, makes for an excellent spot at which to let the hound loose.
She also pointed out that more demure doggies might prefer a structured route at Longniddry Bents in East Lothian, where there is a long curving beach.
Stirling Golf Course offers an ideal hour-long walk around the outside of the golf course, while the beach at Broughty Ferry is also great for whelps, she suggested.
Best of all is the Hermitage of Braid. According to Ms Agnew, it is a greyhound's best friend.
But with rolling hills, open fields, woods and a stream, the spot is sure to be a hit with pooches of any variety. In fact it is the preferred destination for a number of other dog walkers, making it a good spot for some general dog socialising.
