Outdoor activities fans get lost in York maze

Those looking for some fun outdoors activities this summer will be heading to the maize maze, which is set to open in July.

From 19 July through to September those looking for an adventure or simply wanting to do some fitness walking can explore the giant labyrinth.

The maze is made from over 1.5 million plants over a 12.1-hectare (30-acre) plot of land and is billed as the largest of its kind in the world.

Its sides peak at 10-feet tall, making it impossible to see over the walls to get a better idea of direction, making it all the more easy to get lost.

The attraction will cost £7.95 for adults and £6.95 for kids. Family tickets will also be available for £28 and all entrance options can be bought upon arrival.

Fans of the great outdoors may also want to pay a visit to the nearby North Yorkshire Moors National Park, which is a firm favourite with walking fans.

Ramblers can either explore the rugged countryside, which has been a National Park for over 50 years, or bring their mountain bikes along and explore the local cycling trails.
