Mullion Cove

Head to Mullion Cove this summer

Mullion Cove must rate as one of the prettiest coves on the Lizard Peninsula and is the perfect place to enjoy a day trip or week away in your motorhome.

Mullion is famous thanks to the exploits of Guglielmo Marconi who broadcast the first transatlantic radio transmission from nearby Poldhu.

Driving out of Mullion you’ll see signs to Mullion Cove which is an essential visit, being an unspoilt fishing area that has barely changed for hundreds of years. Parking close to the cove itself is limited, so the best bet for a motorhome is to park at the first pay and display carpark you see, which is to the left of the access road.

As well as fantastically rugged cliffs, the cove also has a beach that can be accessed at low tide. There’s a small café at Mullion Cove but it’s not always open and a better bet is to drive out of the cove and head to nearby Mullion Meadows.

Mullion, itself, also has many cafes and restaurants, so it’s a good place to head to if you fancy dining out in the evening. There’s also a fish and chip shop here for lovers of the traditional British seaside dish!

Another great foodie attraction in the area is the Trenance chocolate factory where you can not only buy a wide selection of dark, milk and white chocolate but also see how it’s made.

The area around Mullion has plenty of campsites so you’ll easily find somewhere to stay and as this is such an attractive place, you can’t help but enjoy yourself here. To help you find somewhere to stay visit http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/pitchfinder/.
