
Athletics fans head to London for outdoor activity

Fans of athletics will be heading to London this summer for an extravaganza of sporting activity.
Between Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August the Mazda ULTRA London Triathlon will take place at the ExCel Centre, London, featuring a number of outdoor biking races for spectators to watch.
Lovers of outdoor activities will be able to see the top cyclists exercise their pedal power through the streets of London, many of which are being shut off for the event.
Crowds will also gather around London's Docklands watching athletes complete in a 5-kilometre run as well as a 20- and 40-kilometre bike race.
Inside the venue, there will be a challenging 1 500-metre swimming event while mixed and single gender relay races will also be happening throughout the weekend.
Events taking place on the Saturday will include the youth super sprint, the male super sprint and the female super sprint.
On Sunday there will be the junior elite competition and all other individual Olympic races.
The event's organisers say: ‘Sunday is when the event gets serious, with the Olympic distance of 1 500-metre swim, 40-kilometre bike and a 10-kilometre run.
‘There is also a Sub Group competition for those men and women who have previously completed this distance in under 2 hours 30 minutes.’
