Yorkshire is ‘exciting place to visit’ at Christmas
13 December 2007
Yorkshire will be an ‘exciting place’ to visit this Christmas, according to the Yorkshire Tourist Board (YTB).
Joanna Royle, Marketing Director of YTB, said: ‘The Christmas on offer in Yorkshire really is exciting. From Europe’s largest Nordic ski trail through enchanted woods and the annual ‘Christkindlesmarkt’' German Christmas markets in Leeds and York to traditional carol services and spectacular Christmas decorations at some of the region’s most spectacular historic houses.
‘There are also details on the best places to stay in the region, and a fantastic free service allowing people to book their stay online, on the Internet.’
Rambling enthusiasts searching for winter walks can also entertain themselves with the many walking trails that run through the Yorkshire Dales.
One ‘celeb’ who has expressed an interest in the region this Christmas is Hollywood legend Tom Cruise, who told reporters this week that he considers the Yorkshire pudding to be one of the ‘essential ingredients’ in a Christmas dinner.
Yorkshire's Bold Vision, Bright Future project aims to attract tourism earnings to the value of £5.9 billion per annum to the region by 2010.
