Food and flavour arrive in Hereford
04 October 2007
The Flavours of Herefordshire food festival is back in Hereford this month.
The festival, which is now in its second year, will be held at Hereford Racecourse between 17 and 18 October.
Celebrity chef Sophie Grigson, star of the Channel Four® documentary Grow Your Greens, Eat Your Greens, will return to the festival to demonstrate her culinary skills in the food theatre
Food pavilions and a farmers’ market will showcase the talents of 100 artisan producers of fresh foods. Food Fun has been organised by Hereford Waldorf School for children at the event and will include activities such as apple pressing, pumpkin carving and vegetable printing.
New to this year's festival is Street Food, where visitors can buy sausages and hot chestnuts as well as vegan and gluten-free foods.
Slow Food Herefordshire will also be at the event, talking to visitors about its motto of ‘buy local, fresh and seasonal’.
Admissions to the festival will cost £5 adults and £4 for concessions. A 5% discount is available for those who book online.
