Christmas Lapland experience in Kent
24 October 2007
Lapland is set to come to Kent for this year’s festive season.
Bedgebury Forest in Goudhurst, Kent, will be transformed into a ‘Lapland experience’ for children and families to enjoy on a festive day out.
From 24 November until 31 December part of the 800-hectare forest will play host to Father Christmas and his reindeer at the ambitious attraction, which is being organised by Lapland UK and the Forestry Commission.
The forest will be transformed by special affects such as falling snow and ice, whatever the weather, to create the Lapland spirit.
Visitors at the grotto can enjoy traditional storytelling at the recreated Lapland village of Saami, post their wish lists at the post office and watch toy soldiers play classical Christmas music on their trumpets.
However, for many children the highlight of the day will be to meet Father Christmas and have the chance to earn a place on his ‘good’ list.
Admission prices to the event vary depending on party sizes, but on average two adults and two children can expect to pay a minimum of £90 in November rising to £150 in December.
